Help & Support

Everything about logging trips, reading your own numbers, importing a history you already have, and managing your account. If something here doesn't answer your question, write to us — a person reads every message.

Getting started

Log your first trip

  1. Tap the + button in the tab bar.
  2. The numpad opens on the duration in minutes — type how long the trip took.
  3. Check the direction at the top. Daroha preselects it from the time of day, and you can switch it.
  4. Save. Departure time, date and notes are optional.

Do I need an account?

No. You can use Daroha without signing in and every trip stays on your device. Signing in with Apple or Google adds sync and backup — see Account & sync.

When do estimates appear?

After 3 trips in the same direction. Until then the home screen shows how many more trips it needs instead of a number. More history makes the estimate steadier — the app always shows how many trips it used.

Can I try it with example data?

Yes. Open Settings → Import trips and choose Try with sample data. Sample trips are marked as demo, are kept out of your personal results, and can be cleared any time in Settings → Reset data.

Logging trips

What a trip holds

  • Duration in whole minutes, from 1 to 999.
  • Direction — which leg of the commute it was.
  • Date — today by default.
  • Departure time and notes — optional, add them when they matter.

How direction auto-detect works

Daroha looks at the current hour and picks the first direction whose window covers it. The two built-in directions use To Work from 05:00 to 10:00 and To Home from 14:00 to 20:00. Outside those hours the last used direction stays selected, and you can always switch it by hand before saving.

Directions beyond work and home

Open Settings → Directions to add your own — a name, a colour and its own auto-detect window. Existing trips keep their direction. If you delete a direction that has trips, Daroha asks which direction to move them to first, so no trip is lost.

Fix or remove a trip

Tap any trip in the history to edit its duration, direction, date, departure time or notes, or to delete it. Statistics and comparisons recalculate from the corrected data.

Statistics

Typical departure window

The window is when you usually leave, worked out from the departure times you logged. Next to it Daroha shows your typical duration and how many trips the estimate is based on. It describes your habit — it is not advice about when to leave.

Overview: trips, average, range

Trips is how many are in the current scope, Average is their mean duration, and Range is the fastest and slowest trip in that scope. Switching direction or day scope re-scopes all three.

By day of week

A bar per weekday for the selected direction, so a slow Thursday stops being a feeling and becomes a number. Days without trips stay empty rather than guessing.

Why don't the numbers match my maps app?

Because they are not a forecast. Daroha has no GPS, no live traffic and no route data — every number comes from trips you logged yourself. That is the point: it reflects your real commute, including the walk to the car and the wait at the platform.

Import & export

Import a CSV file

Open Settings → Import trips and choose I have a CSV file. The file needs the columns date, direction, departure and duration; notes is optional. You see what will be added before anything is saved.

Full CSV format →

Turn written notes into trips

If your history lives in a notes app rather than a spreadsheet, pick Convert from notes. Daroha writes a prompt for you to copy into any AI chat — ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini — which converts your notes to the right CSV, and you paste the result back into the app.

The app sends nothing anywhere. It only puts a prompt on your clipboard; you choose the chat, you paste your own notes, and you paste the result back. Daroha has no AI service of its own and does not call one.

Duplicates

Rows that match a trip you already have are skipped, and Daroha shows how many. A duplicate means the same date, time and direction; repeated rows inside one file are collapsed too.

Export your trips

Settings → Export trips writes a CSV of your own trips and hands it to the system share sheet, so you can save it to Files, mail it to yourself or drop it in a spreadsheet. Export is free and includes notes and source columns alongside the four required ones.

Do imported trips count as recent activity?

They count by their own trip date, not by the day you imported them. A file of last spring's commutes fills in last spring, so your statistics stay truthful.

Account & sync

Signing in

Settings → Sign in offers Apple and Google. Signing in syncs your trips and directions so a new device starts with your history instead of an empty journal.

What happens to trips I logged before signing in?

They move to your account the first time you sign in, together with any custom directions. Nothing is left behind and nothing is duplicated.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Logging, editing, history, statistics, import and export all work with no connection — the journal lives on the device. Changes made offline upload when you are back online, and an edit you made on the phone is never overwritten by older data from the server.

Signing out

Settings → Sign out returns the app to the local journal. Your synced trips stay in your account and come back when you sign in again. To remove them from the server, use Delete account instead — see Privacy & data.

Premium & billing

What Premium adds

One thing: period comparison stays up to date. It lines up your last 7 or 28 days against the previous equal period and reports the median, the middle half, how many trips it used and what changed. Your first comparison is free and stays saved as a dated snapshot; Premium refreshes it as new trips arrive and unlocks other directions and periods.

What stays free

Logging, unlimited history, editing, custom directions, CSV import, CSV export and the basic statistics — average, range, typical duration, day-of-week breakdown. Nothing is taken away if you never subscribe or if a subscription lapses.

Price

$2.99 per month or $19.99 per year, with no trial at launch. The price shown in the app comes from the App Store for your country, and it renews until you cancel it in your Apple account.

Why does a comparison say it needs more data?

Each of the two periods needs at least 3 trips on 3 different dates. If the last 7 days are too thin, Daroha offers the 28-day period instead. When the two periods cover different weekdays, the result is labelled as a description rather than a change — comparing a full week against three days would not mean anything.

Restore or cancel

Reinstalled the app or switched devices? Open Settings → Premium and use Restore purchases. Cancelling is done in your Apple account, like any App Store subscription; access lasts until the end of the period you already paid for.

Privacy & data

Does Daroha track my location?

No. There is no location permission, no background tracking and no map. The app cannot know where you went — only how long it took, because you typed it in.

Clear your trips

Settings → Reset data clears all trips and directions and starts you over. If you are signed in, the same action removes them from the server for your account.

Delete your account

Settings → Delete account permanently removes your trips, directions, profile and login from our systems. This cannot be undone, so export first if you want to keep a copy. Deleting the app alone removes the local data from your device.

What we can see

If you never sign in, nothing leaves your phone. If you do, your trips and directions are stored in our database with row-level security so only your account can read them. There are no ads, no ad networks and no behavioural analytics. The full detail is in the Privacy Policy.

Still stuck?

Write to us and say what you expected to happen. Screenshots help. We read every message.

Manage your subscription

Prices, renewal dates and cancellation all live in your Apple account — we cannot change a subscription for you.
